SHANGHAI, CHINA, March 31, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Motoring enthusiasts will rub shoulders with leading figures from the car manufacturing industry when Auto Shanghai returns next month.

The event was the first international show of its kind in China, having taken place for the first time back in 1985.

When it was last held in 2009, 1,500 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions participated and almost 7,300 journalists reported from the expo.

On Auto Shanghai's official website, the organisers promise this year's event will attract an "impressive and recognised" selection of companies from the industry.

The biennial show gets underway for the 14th time at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) on April 21st 2011.

Admission to the first two days is reserved for trade visitors, but members of the public are allowed to attend from April 23rd to 28th. The venue opens from 09:00 to 18:00 local time, apart from on the final day when it closes at 15:00.

The SNIEC is located on Longyang Road, near the city's Century Park.
