Lewis A. Venters Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Lewis A. Venters Named Digital Media & Electronics Executive of the Year
AUSTIN, TX, December 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lewis A. Venters, Vice President of Corporate Quality for Cirrus Logic Inc., has been named Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in Digital Media & Electronics. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.
With 28 years of professional experience, Lewis A. Venters is considered an expert in automotive and commercial quality, Six Sigma, failure mode and effects analysis, project management, supplier quality, ISO-9000, and TS-16949. Since 2005, he has been the vice president of corporate quality for Cirrus Logic, a manufacturer of semiconductor electronics. In charge of all quality, reliability and device physics laboratory activities, Mr. Venters works closely with design and test engineers and is credited for reengineering the corporation's product qualification process to reduce cycle time and drive improved first-pass success rate. He also handles budgets and strategic planning, audits suppliers and subcontractors, and addresses customer issues, for which function he travels regularly to Asia.
A veteran of the 1982 Lebanon War, Mr. Venters brings to his position eight years of experience in the U.S. Navy as an electronics technician where he worked on aircraft off of aircraft carriers. He also worked previously in the stereo and electronics department of Best Products where he became a stereo and electronics novice. His experiences there sparked his interest in electronics and audio engineering. He received a bachelor's degree in aviation management, minor in electrical engineering, from Southern Illinois University and a master's program associates certificate in program management from George Washington University. A certified ISO-9000 lead auditor and a certified TS-16949 lead auditor, he also holds a Lean Six Sigma certification and a certification from the American Society for Quality Control (now the American Society for Quality). His professional affiliations include the American Society for Quality, the Automotive Industry Action Group and the Automotive Electronics Council.
